What are Merchful’s design file requirements?
Merchful Print File Requirements
We recommend high resolution PNG images with 300 DPI. This will ensure a high quality detailed print. If your design will be printed using vinyl/flex or other printing methods, we recommend a layered PDF, PSD, EPS or AI file. Not familiar with some of the terms used? Below we have some helpful information on each. Feel free to reach out to us for more information and we’d be happy to help.
What is image resolution?
Image Resolution refers to the details an image holds. The details are measured by the pixels an image holds; usually reflected via the measurements of width and height of the image or the total number of pixels it contains. The higher the resolution of an image, the better the image quality and print quality would be. Higher resolution images portray a more crisper and detailed look with higher color enhancement and defined edges. A high print quality and print resolution is reflected via the DPI (Dots per Inch).
What is DPI?
DPI or “Dots Per Inch” is the term used when outlining the Print resolution of an image. It expresses the number of dots in a printed inch; in other words, the number of ink dots per inch deposited by the printer while printing the given image or print file. The higher the DPI, the higher the print resolution is expected to be as we identified above that a high print quality and print resolution is reflected via the DPI.
